Last week of 2014!!

Christmas Conference with the Mission
 Best Buds in the Mission
Well it was a great week! It was nice to see you guys and talk with you. Hope you are all doing fine and getting used to the girls being up in utah now. But anyway things are going good here for me. We are ready to start a new year with new goals! Lots of things are on my mind but i will get it all figured out! I love it here and enjoy it a lot:)
Zone Nativity.  I was a King bringing Myrrh
The other day the mission president called me which is actually rare to get calls directly from him. So we were obviously anxious for why he called us. And he talked to us for a while of how our branch was a little different and that it need as much help from us as we can give. after the call we had a meeting with the branch president and he asked us to be his counselors. HE as well talked with us a lot on how we can help and what we can do. I will be the first counselor over the preisthood, temple, and classes. Elder B is over the primary and all of the youth. we actually got to teach all of the youth and some of preisthood sunday, and we enjoyed it.

Elder B and i are glad to be serving as counselors to President A. He said we might be staying here for a bit longer but we are both fine with that as we would love to talk part in strengthen the branch for as long as we need to. We are going to focus on less active members and having activities to keep people interested. The next two weeks the branch President will be out of town but we feel comfortable doing all we need to and helping out.

Theres a reason for everything and i hope that we can make a difference in this calling and change the branch for the better. I love this work as i always have and always will. Have a good week and make good decisions;) haha but have a fun new years week, ill just be a year ahead for a few hours! thanks guys, love you BYE!

District Leader & Trainer - ELDER HOLLAND

Elder Hollands visit
I wont have much time to get back to all my emails this week. But i did just get changed from an area to the area directly above my sector. Its sad because i had such a short time there there with everyone but good as i am moving forward with everything. I am now a Trainer and District Leader so we will see how it goes. There are about 20 district leaders out of the 250 or somewhat missionaries here. And on top of that i am training, double duty. I am really nervous. but i have trust in the lord. Theres a reason for everything.

This past week we were teaching a family. They have the same situation as many where they have to get married first. So we shared with them and the kids and they are really excited if the mom can get baptized. She has always wanted to and knows it is true so that is awesome. I am excited for this calling and will show the Lord what i can do.

Thanks for all your support and help with everything.  Bye love you guys. thanks for everything.

Time is passing by quick!

Man ive been out for 10 months now, this is starting to pick up speed! So i was talking with a member yesterday and he was telling me that about this time in the mission field is when you have everything down and have more time to focus on working and helping others. So im pumped that im not worried about the same things as i was at the start of my mission.

And then i came to think about how god works, the ways and the times he works. I probably will never notice much of it but as i begin to think and read my patriarchal blessing i can see it all so much better. I dont want to get into detail cuz its obviously personal. But one example of how god works to me is about my schooling. I applied after high school to all the byus and told myself if i didnt get into hawaii or provo i would leave on my mission. So i did that and had my mission call and everything. But one night i thought to myself i had to reapply, not thinking anything of it. The deadlines were just about to come up and i was leaving on my mission anyway, so why not. And i was surprised to be accepted to hawaii. So i still dont know exactly why things have happened this way but maybe one day further down the road i will understand more. I just thought i would share that even though it will be a while longer till i get any studying. Its crazy how god has all of this planned out. I read the Miracle of forgiveness by spencer w. kimball two times and it is really good. It has some strong stuff in there but it helps me see a lot better.
Saying our goodbyes
So just a bunch of crazyness this week with my comps bike getting stolen and the member pulling out his gun and shooting to scare everyone away. But things just keep getting better for me:) Thanks for being there, i love all you. Have a good week! Just takin some pics by our house and next to some horses haha. Biking in new sec

Some crazy bike trails. Other missionaries of the branch, haha yes the same Elder from my last sector.  My new Companion Elder F.

I have been getting to know my sector a little bit more. And it is freaking huge!!! like more than 50 almost 60 square miles. and it takes forever to get around on bike but it is fun. Like it took almost 30 minutes just to get to lunch the other day. And it takes 20 minutes in a bus to leave our sector and an hour to get to district class.

The people here are great. We have an investigator named E. He has learnd so much and has such a strong desire to be baptized. We are helping him the best we can with all his doubts and questions, but he says he knows it is true. I am very happy to be helping him and getting to know many other great people here. Everything is going good here, getting used to the bike and the heat!

So i found my spanish name and it would be, Agustin Carlos Cazador, just something for the week haha.

Love you, have a good week. and you boys starting school too!
I cleaned up the house pretty well

Mission Changes!

Soccer pose with my Companion Elder M and I

A lot is going down in our mission right now with the new mission president we got a few weeks ago. He is changing so much and this week we are going to try a new schedule and see how it works out. We wake up at 6:30 and get ready and do some studies after 10. Then we go work until 1 oclick and have lunch. We go back home to study a little bit more and take a nap, siesta until 3:30. Then we go back out to work until 6:30 when we can finally eat dinner or something until 7:30. And from there until like 9 we work. THen plan and everything and have to be in bed by 10:30. So we will see how this whole plan goes down this week, i am just pumped for the naps!

they are the best!
I have been reading a lot still this past week. I love reading the poems and stories i have been given.
And i have read Proverbs a lot recently. Especially from chapters 3 through 7. And Proverbs 3:5-6 is probably one of my favorite scriptures now. Put your trust in the lord and he will guide and direct you. Its been helping me a lot to know that simple doctrine again. So i continue to put more trust in him and feel more comfort in how things will end.

THANK YOU my (sister) HERMANA ASHLEY so much for your letter, you sent it over a month ago but it came a day exaclty when i need it. I loved the story about the missionay who met. who he needed to share the gospel within the pre existence:) I read the story with all my companions because it was in spanish too!!!

Thanks for helping me out with everything guys:) love you.

I love chile!

It's getting cold here in Chile
We ate cow heart for lunch today and it was so good and I've tried octopus and horse meat, lots of stuff! So this week was fun. Im getting nice and used to the cold and rain. Its gonna come stronger in winter! I just bought some beanies and gloves and scarves. Were getting all prepped for winter.
My Companion Elder A and I
This past week it has gotten quite cold and the rain started to come! Im all bundled up and have lots to keep me warm. The ghetto part we live in occasionally has power cut off. So we get to sleep nice and comfy without the heater. Just a tiny thing we plug into the wall haha. While and after it had rained it felt so refreshing. The air was all nice and crisp clean cold. I just thought of how i have come to love chile and the people. It may different here then back home in ca but I find this place amazingly beautiful. And the people are amazing. This is a wonderful place and im lucky to be hear sharing the gospel.

The family that we are teaching have all been progressing great! H, M, and the kids. They are a great family and love the church. They have known the church is true for a long time and have been attending for a month or two now. But they are all reading the scriptures together and going to all of the activities! The members are getting a long great with them which is a big help in coming to church.

Just 3 more weeks of this transfer and the we will have our Mission President change. Everything is good down here, hope for you guys too. Love you Have a good week.

crazy week!

Futbol with zone Leaders
so this week was crazy! a lot of stuff happened. so im just gonna be throwing some stuff around. Firstly how in the middle of the night the other day Elder F heard a noise in his room. it ended up being a rat in the house. so we all grabbed brooms and tried to get it as it was running for an hour. and that thing was the size of a shoe that could jump! he jumped on my legs three times and i was just laughing with the camera in one hand and a broom in the other. and then a different night there were cats screaming outside all night.
Kept us up all night
M was confirmed this week and received the holy ghost! it has been great having him in the branch as the strongest group of the branch is all of the young men. He has also been an example to his family who has definitely changed and we can feel more peace in the house. I can really see the difference the gospel brings into the lives of many. I have been blessed to have grown up in the church with all of my family and am very grateful for that in my life.

I really didnt know how blessed i was before the mission. But out here it is a huge difference. Like many of the little things i have i never really noticed how much i have.  that reminds me of a story from the mission president in the ccm who talked about a young missionary who came to serve with a pair of jeans not knowing what exactly to do being the first member in his family. and how the president took him out to get new clothes and necessities. there are many who drop family for coming on the mission.

But thank you all for always being there for me:) im excited to skype sunday:) I wanted to spend sunday doing something nice so i told the other elders that we are going out to visit some of the sisters of our ward to bring them flowers and especially the single sisters. that will make me the happiest on sunday:) oh and Happy Anniversary mom and dad! and my bro Garrett will be turning 17 soon! love you guys. talk soon! 6 days!

its poppin out here, we be workin hard

Our sector goes up to the mountains
I dont know what the title each week should be so i will just out the first thing that comes to mind. But this week was fun as usual. Conchalì is the place be! The church got robbed this week which is whatevs haha. nothing new here. They destroyed and stole a lot inside. The four of us were walking past the church and saw everything open and thought someone was cleaning at first. But then thought why were all the trophies and pictures out of the cases, so we grabbed tennis rackets and baseball and searched the place but nobody was there. So we called the ward and told them what happened. ovioulsy the police here just stopped by and didnt do much. But they brook into every room, even the offices that are steel plated 3 inches thick, and the gates here that are 12 feet and spiked. but the one closet they didnt open was the one that had all the tithing so that was lucky.
This week i saw the people who are most likely to share and love to talk with the missionaries. There are many foreigners here like from Peru and Haiti that come here looking for a better life. They really look for anything that will help them in life. And as missionaries we know the gospel is the greatest of all. This week for example we shared with a family from Peru that have two deaf sons. they were able to understand the message and accept a baptismal date. We will continue to share with them and the importance of eternal families as my testimony is strong in that area.  I love you guys have a good week.
