happy mothers day mom, and happy birthday my bro garrett!

My view of family in CA and sister on a mission is Texas
I was excited to skype with all you guys:) until christmas! but i was good to see you all and share a moment.

This past week i had a great spiritual moment. i was in an intercambio with another missionary for the day. at the end of the night it was almost 9.45 to start coming home, the last appointment fell and we were ready to go back. But my companion said that we should pray to see what to do. As we did a house came to my mind and i told him i dont know why but we have past this house many times before without success, and the house was at the other corner of our sector. But he said to follow the promting as we started to walk. We got to the house and the mother opened the door telling us she was very occupied. When i asked her what it was she said "come in and see!" I was so suprised to finally enter this house after many tries.

As we were teaching she explained how she had the missionaries a long time before but dropped them because her husband didnt like the missionaries. While we were teaching the husband walked in and saw we were teaching the whole family, uncles and aunts and kids. He rolled his eyes and kept walking. But we invited him to listen to the prayer as we end. While my companion was praying the whole house was silent and it felt so peaceful for jsut a moment. And the first person to say anything was the father. He joked with us for a bit but we were able to see him changing. We are going to keep going back to tach the whole family as they have a great desire to listen.
Painting a sisters house
It was really special to give some flowers, chocolates and notes to some of the sisters in our ward. Some who have never had children, we wanted to make their days as special as we could:) love you guys, talk next week.

The cold is coming

On the Metro
Finally we are getting cold here. As missionaries we love the cold more than the heat. We just layer up and good to go!

Things have been going great for me and my companion. We really are looking forward to the baptism of M. The ward boys are getting along with hiim great. He is becoming more comfortable with the church and wants to come to every activity! Like yesterday he walked all the way to church alone and stayed for all the classes. We are teaching him every other day to prepare him. Hes a great kid and i know that this will also help reactivate his mother in the church. I hope to stay in this sector and see my first convert from beginning to baptism. It makes me so happy to see the difference and change in the lifes of those who want to follow jesus christ.
oh my foot is all better. i actually have a damaged nerve in my foot too. but i only get random shocks sensations in my foot at times. but it's all good and i don't have any pain. it'll all heal perfectly over time.

We get plenty of earth quakes every week. and they are huge. like during the middle of the night.

The other day we had to come in the house a few hours early becuase it was a day of the ´´young combatents´´ i think it is in english. where many tennagers go out to mess around and just do bad things so to be safe we got home early.  The next morning as we are walking around we say many things sad things.  But were safe.

All is well, i keep working and i hope to stay here next change, we will find out the end of this week. But im happy as always for everything. Love you guys so much. later alligator

its poppin out here, we be workin hard

Our sector goes up to the mountains
I dont know what the title each week should be so i will just out the first thing that comes to mind. But this week was fun as usual. Conchalì is the place be! The church got robbed this week which is whatevs haha. nothing new here. They destroyed and stole a lot inside. The four of us were walking past the church and saw everything open and thought someone was cleaning at first. But then thought why were all the trophies and pictures out of the cases, so we grabbed tennis rackets and baseball and searched the place but nobody was there. So we called the ward and told them what happened. ovioulsy the police here just stopped by and didnt do much. But they brook into every room, even the offices that are steel plated 3 inches thick, and the gates here that are 12 feet and spiked. but the one closet they didnt open was the one that had all the tithing so that was lucky.
This week i saw the people who are most likely to share and love to talk with the missionaries. There are many foreigners here like from Peru and Haiti that come here looking for a better life. They really look for anything that will help them in life. And as missionaries we know the gospel is the greatest of all. This week for example we shared with a family from Peru that have two deaf sons. they were able to understand the message and accept a baptismal date. We will continue to share with them and the importance of eternal families as my testimony is strong in that area.  I love you guys have a good week.

New Comp and New Sector

i got a call saturday night while i was sleeping that i was going to be put in a new sector, it wasnt suprising because always after training they put a gringo with a latino. my new comapanion is named Elder A and he has like 19 years. crud i hate how my english is super bad now. "super fome" means super cruddy here in chile. any way, he and I are put in this new sector.  the missionaries always get robbed and well i dont need to say more haha. but we have  new place to live in but its obviously run down. itll be 4 of us missionaries living there with two other gringos. we are pumped to have a good time!

Saying goodbye to warm members

New best friend F  -  Last ward meal
last week i was in intercambios with Elder L and we had a really special day together. For some reason for the first time in his mission and obviously in mine we taught lessons all day because every single person accepted us. none of the appointments fell through and we taught lots of people for the first time. and every person was very interseted to hear and shre with us. Even one of the houses was a wrong house and a wrong person but we still taught them and the want to continue to take the lessons. I know that there are lots of people out there waiting and that incredible day where we taught almost ten great lessons i wont forget. i absolutley love this work whether the people i talk to will listen or not. we give everyone we can the opportunity to hear.
My District
Also this week instead of playing with little children, we got to play dominoes with a group of elderly people who we have as investigators haha. Any ways i have to get back and clean the house with all of us now and set up our beds and tables because there is no furniture and we dont have closets. Ill be safe dont worry. ill stay out of the parts of our sector that are marked in red to never walk. love you all and hope you have a good week. we bout to start march!  -Elder Jaeger

Christmas week woot woot

Our District
SaY wHaT sAy WhAt?!? Christmas already passed? dang is time picking up. And going by fast. I like to think of a roll of toilet paper for how a mission goes haha. it starts off with a lot and seems like it will never end. But once it starts being used it goes quick. You can start telling that you have less and less as it gets nearer to the end. And then before you know it you are out! And your stuck in the bathroom yelling for more toilet paper. haha but serioiulsy this is going fast, i hope you understood what i was trying to say.
Christmas dinner.  Can't have it without soda and mayo!
Anywho, This week was great and did so much. Christmas night we didnt have a time to be home really and got in at 12:30ish after dinner. oh dinner was huge and good. lots of food and vegetables. oh and mayo on everything, the rice, corn, potatoes, carrots, beats, peas, but it was soo good. the pruvians know how to cook here. And on christmas we went to visit all of the members that lived alone and had nobody to visit them. so the four of us in this ward visited them and sang and just had a good time. we washed a car for one member who is reactivated. Just lots of fun with them all. I opened my packages and loved all the gifts and candy. haha but chile isnt as bad as you think, it is pretty much los angeles. its not hard to find food or candy, but thanks for the american food! i already ate all the candy haha. I dont know why im feeling all funny today and im actually writing this all fast.

We found some awesome new investigators this week. One is a haitian who is friends with and lives with the other haitian members. He shared of who he has been here for 6 months away from all his family trying to find work and it has been hard. He told us all about his life and cried explaining the difficult time in his life. But we helped to make him feel better and shared so much with him as he had lots of interest. And the best feeling came over me on sunday. Just as we were singing the first hymn in church he walked in! he sat next to me and i had the biggest smile on my face and felt so great. During the meeting he was giving his full atention and was reading the book of mormon he brought with him. After the meeting i asked him how he got here. He said he walked and kept asking people on the street where the building was because he really wanted to make it to church. he woke up and didnt even eat anything just so he could make it to church. He has lots of interest and we will coninue helping him gain a testimony. Definitely one of the most loving people there is.

As well our other investigators came to church and i was so happy for all of them. things are starting to pick up here and we are still continuing to work every day. never a moment to stop working.
Early morning studies in Chile...

well a new year and new goals and resolutions, so im gonna make 2014 a year of straight working non stop. Thanks for all your support and love. And thanks for the letters and packages and emails. I love you guys and pray for you. bye!

Getting ready for christmas!

I love this place!
I am so pumped! i just have energy like the energizer bunny! I dont know what it is but i love all of this. Hahah well this week i had a little sickness in my stomach and spent most of my week on the toilet. Never eating fish again. They food is different and i'm getting used to it.  We just share whatever and eat whatever. I love them all and want to help as many as i can.Hahah just in the middle of this a man came up and asked me to light his cigarette.
Went on interchanges and rode bikes!
This past week has been getting better with trying to find more people to teach and talk with. We stopped by a house the other night looking for a someone but ended up talking to an older man in bed rest. He can only move his right arm and gead after a attack in his brain. but we talked to him for a while and he ended up being a member but many years ago. It was really special to talk with him. He has been in bed for a few years and hasnt been in contact with the church for many. But we are going to help him the best we can. My companion and i love to sing songs and the older man asked us to sing his favorite song for him. while we were singing he was holding his heart and smiling big:) He also told us about how he prayed this morning and knew that we would be coming. It was very special, and i know he is one of the many who are waiting for the missionaries.
Me & my companion Elder C.  We email here every p-day.
I gave a talk this week in church. I prepared a 5 min talk but gave a 15 min talk in spanish because the other speaker wasnt there. It was actually good and understandable. I'm always willing to speak!

Many people try to get us with a kiss on the cheek because it is customary, but we always have to say no kiss for the rules. BUt the haitins are so loving and will always greet with a kiss. Haha too many actually. The kids gave on on the lips and i was thrown off. So we had to tell them no more. But they are kind and loving. All of our investigators and members of the ward.

The wedding or baptism didnt happen this week because the certificates and papers they had were bad. But in a a few weeks they will be baptized and married! So awesome!
Shhhhh.  I took out the mac & cheese and put in trix cereal!
Have a great christmas week everyone. see you soon -Elder Jaeger
