happy mothers day mom, and happy birthday my bro garrett!

My view of family in CA and sister on a mission is Texas
I was excited to skype with all you guys:) until christmas! but i was good to see you all and share a moment.

This past week i had a great spiritual moment. i was in an intercambio with another missionary for the day. at the end of the night it was almost 9.45 to start coming home, the last appointment fell and we were ready to go back. But my companion said that we should pray to see what to do. As we did a house came to my mind and i told him i dont know why but we have past this house many times before without success, and the house was at the other corner of our sector. But he said to follow the promting as we started to walk. We got to the house and the mother opened the door telling us she was very occupied. When i asked her what it was she said "come in and see!" I was so suprised to finally enter this house after many tries.

As we were teaching she explained how she had the missionaries a long time before but dropped them because her husband didnt like the missionaries. While we were teaching the husband walked in and saw we were teaching the whole family, uncles and aunts and kids. He rolled his eyes and kept walking. But we invited him to listen to the prayer as we end. While my companion was praying the whole house was silent and it felt so peaceful for jsut a moment. And the first person to say anything was the father. He joked with us for a bit but we were able to see him changing. We are going to keep going back to tach the whole family as they have a great desire to listen.
Painting a sisters house
It was really special to give some flowers, chocolates and notes to some of the sisters in our ward. Some who have never had children, we wanted to make their days as special as we could:) love you guys, talk next week.

crazy week!

Futbol with zone Leaders
so this week was crazy! a lot of stuff happened. so im just gonna be throwing some stuff around. Firstly how in the middle of the night the other day Elder F heard a noise in his room. it ended up being a rat in the house. so we all grabbed brooms and tried to get it as it was running for an hour. and that thing was the size of a shoe that could jump! he jumped on my legs three times and i was just laughing with the camera in one hand and a broom in the other. and then a different night there were cats screaming outside all night.
Kept us up all night
M was confirmed this week and received the holy ghost! it has been great having him in the branch as the strongest group of the branch is all of the young men. He has also been an example to his family who has definitely changed and we can feel more peace in the house. I can really see the difference the gospel brings into the lives of many. I have been blessed to have grown up in the church with all of my family and am very grateful for that in my life.

I really didnt know how blessed i was before the mission. But out here it is a huge difference. Like many of the little things i have i never really noticed how much i have.  that reminds me of a story from the mission president in the ccm who talked about a young missionary who came to serve with a pair of jeans not knowing what exactly to do being the first member in his family. and how the president took him out to get new clothes and necessities. there are many who drop family for coming on the mission.

But thank you all for always being there for me:) im excited to skype sunday:) I wanted to spend sunday doing something nice so i told the other elders that we are going out to visit some of the sisters of our ward to bring them flowers and especially the single sisters. that will make me the happiest on sunday:) oh and Happy Anniversary mom and dad! and my bro Garrett will be turning 17 soon! love you guys. talk soon! 6 days!

My new companion! and a great week!

That first cambio went by quick (i think transfer in english). Its hard for me to think and write this in english. My mind is solely set to espaƱol ahora(now). I can understand ever word and conversaciòn con la gente(with the people). alright i will try to write this all in english. But it is hard to traducir(translate i think in english) because i have learned this spanish by speaking it not really by translating it. So i know how to say so much in spanish but its hard to put it in english.

Entonces, (so) i had a few intercambios(exchanges? man this is difficult) with the leader of the zone and the assistant to the president. i learned so much from them and also had to direct the sector because i know all the things for this sector. As well all the missionaries from the ccm came to my sector while i was on exchanges to see how we do things. So we had all the other missionaries come to my sector to help and go contacting with the missionaries. it was fun and we were all in the streets. Since we had C with us( a 14 year old recent convert) i walked around with him and we had fun contacting. But i feel comfortable with having to lead this sector for a little bit to help my new companion to learn the sector.
My new companion is awesome, Elder D. We are getting along great and i am excited for him to train me and to have this transfer with him. I always love learning from these great missionaries.
We have an investigator named D who is 65 or so. We taught him once and gave him a book of mormon to read, Then we didnt see him for two weeks while he was on vacation. But when he came back he read 3 nephi 11 like 7 times. He had it memorized! He asked about baptism and wants to be baptized really bad! He came to church this week and loved it, we will continue to help him for 3 weeks then he will be baptized! People are always being prepared.

Oh and i want to let you guys know that you have to be the coolest family for the missionaries. En serio(seriously). I have a awesome family in my ward that we stop by all the time whether its is only to use the bathroom or to teach or anything. But they have a son who is home from his mission and always helps us teach. So if there are sisters in the ward kelsey should teach lessons with them occasionaly, and always let the misionaries into the house. let them teach in the house if they need. i just know that missionaries love great members who can help with the missionary work.
Thank you to my ward back home!  I got the christmas package!
Last ward picture

thanks for being a great family! We will always have the best. And thanks for the help and prayers. I love this mission and this work. Especially the people. ¡Have a great week and have fun!

New Years

Happy New Year from Chile
I just want to start by saying since jaeger is german for hunter and casador means hunter in spanish. i explain to people that my name pretty much means Elder Casador! So new years was fun other than not being able to see fireworks:/ we were in the house and there were lots of trees and buildings so we leaned out the window to see the ones we could. But we still celebrated, obviously wihtout a new years kiss. haha.
New Years Eve  -  New Years Day (no one is out)
My favorite street - I'm doing good!
This week we met a really great family. We first met the boy N walking on the street and he said we could pass by his house any time. And then we stopped by the next day and met the whole family. a grandma a mother and 4 kids. They were so nice and kind to us. We shared with them and they all commited to read the book of mormon. we returned yesterday and they actually all read the part we assigned as a family! and we answered their questions. They have lots of interest and will continue to pass by often and share with them. I will keep you updated on how they progress.

We also have the investigators who want to be baptized but need to be married first do the paper work. Always times where things get tough but we work with them. He wants to do so much for the church and have a calling but we have to wait two months or so. I will be so excited when he is baptized!

We continue to find lots of people each week. This place is california. lots of fires this week and heat. I already feel at home here. Well have a great week and start to the new year. Talk soon

Semana 1 (week 1)

Chile Santiago Temple (P-day in the CCM)
Wow time has been flying by. It has been so busy here but all good. I only have 30 minutes to type so i will just send out one big email today. I was setting up all of my email and figuring out my camera. Well anyway today was obviously p day but you only get three hours to do what you want and an hour at most to email.

Me and my companion walked around a lot. We have a good time together. And while buying food from a small store we ran into some 15 year old school boys who we talked to for a while and then they went on their way. But as we were coming back down the road after picking up what we needed we saw them sitting on a bench so we talked to the three of them. we all understood each other pretty well and talked for 15 min in spanish and try to tell them about ourselves. and then as one of the boys was writing down his information their bus came to pick them up and they had to hurry on and go. But it was good to get practice and talk with nice people
Me and my Comp from Tennessee
These past few days have been filled with so much. learning, praying, spanish, gospel, reading, writing, singing, speaking, and yes eating. The food was a little different at first but you get used to it. all of the missionaries that have been here warn about the "pan" or bread. they say if you eat too much, like more than one piece you will be having a hard time in the bathroom haha. We eat potatoes, rice and chicken all the time which is great for me because ill always eat it. there is also fish, soup, and other things sometimes. Ohh my gosh and i have to tell you about breakfast!! ok so for breakfast you come to the table which is already set and has lots of things out. you pour a bowl of cereal and then pour a bunch of yogurt on top! it is so different but it is the custom and because of the milk here. I like it because i like yogurt. The milk is never refirgertaed and is put on a shelf, and when it expires they boil it and put it back in. it is really different.

The spanish language is coming great to me! I am rooming in the ccm with some latino elders and they are so funny and nice. We teach them english and they teach us spanish. It is so fun and we always laugh.

My p day and time might change around with so many missionaries coming in and out. A normal day is waking up before 7 and studying for an hour then going to excersise and go to the huge park with all the elders and play soccer and other games. then the rest of the day is study study study and lots of class.

am so happy about everything though and it will go by fast. Thanks for the prayers and such, i will keep you filled in but these weeks at the ccm will be jam packed and rush to get all the learning in that i can.

Well i have a few minutes left and wish i could talk about everything. But i love you guys. I love you mom, dad, garrett, blake, kelsey, and ashley. And of course i definitley love kennedy. As well everyone else in the family and grandparents:) I hope you are all doing okay. There is so much i have to say but i am writing in my journal every night so you guys will be fully filled in in two years. I love you guys so much! have a great week and i know i will!

i tried to attach lots of pictures but it wont send so many. The pictures of the road are a main road that is connected to the ccm and temple and many stores if you walk down in either direction. There is a picutre of me in front of the temple and one with my companion. One picture is of the ccm from the front and another is the temple from the front.
