Crazy week, mixed emotions

Welp this has been crazy. But i feel a lot better talking about things with many people. I have seen much love from thos who mean so much to me. Many members who have a place in my heart have helped me and given me advice.
Interchanges with Elder D.  Elder burning his half way tie.

I have found a great importance in love for others. We came across these two young boys and their mother who mean so much to me in just one visit. We knock on the door and immediatly the mother invites us in. We didnt expect that to happen. And as we enter there is two little boys. They both run to get their scriptures and hymn books. We ended up singing a few hymns and letting them read what they wanted. The mother started to tell her story of the family. She explained that little O has had many surgeries on his head as you can see the scars. He has brain tumors and is set to die in any moment. That is where many of my emotions started to go crazy this week. We try to visit them as often as we can now as we wont to cherish these small moments.

But after everything it was a good week. Getting to meet our new awesome mission president who has so much trust in us and love for us. We are all excited for these coming months and the changes being made. My companion Elder M and i are now working with less actives as it has been hard to find new investigators. We were surprised to have 5 of the less actives who havent been to church in years come on sunday.

I am blessed to have been given my comapnion in this moment. He has been through some of the same things as i have and we talk very openly. He has a great energy and is crazy which is just what i need in these moments. So actually after all that has happened i feel really chill about everything. I love you guys and hope you have a good week.

Not too crazy of a week. Turned out pretty good!

After church pics with new Companion Elder M & Roomates

So this week went pretty good. So my companion is Elder M from the south of chile. Hes been out for like 10 months now. We are getting a long good. Its just been a change to be with someone new. But he has been in like 6 or 7 areas and had like 10 companoins. Im just in my seconds sector still.

I am still thinking about all that Elder Robins said the other week. I loved how he spoke a lot on the importance of the Holy Ghost and the role it plays for us. And how peoples conversions always come about by feeling and being taught by the holy ghost. It was especially important to think of how he explained the holy ghost when were are confirmed. It is like the dimmer switch is turned up and that we can recognize and feel the spirit more. I can say this is true in my mission seeing the difference in my life and others lives as well.

Oh and last week i forgot to say that we were riding in a bus to get back to our sector after it had been raining pretty hard. And the bus driver was pretty bad and aggressive. Our bus ended up crashing into another car:/ but nobody was hurt. So we had to run and jump on another bus in the pouring rain. I thought it was pretty crazy.

Hope everyone has a good week. I love all you guys.- Elder Austin Jaeger

Its aleady february?!?

It feels like christmas and new years were just yesterday! dang this is going by fast. But i love it more and more every day. 3 more weeks of training then ill be with a latino companion.

This week was great as every week just keeps getting better. I was getting ready the other day and when i came out of the bathroom my companion had made my bed, polished my shoes, and made me breakfast. He is so nice, we get along great! We always do little service stuff for eachother like i will make somthing for him, i made cookies last week! We work great together and really do help everyone we can.

We came across a woman this week who hasnt heard from the missionaries in 8 years! She had investigated before but not for a long time. but we were able to share with here and feel the spirit very strong! I know we will keep sharing with her and all of those who are ready and prepared to accept this gospel. My testimony grows more and more every day as i read and study. I love this church and my mission so much.

Work hard Play hard

Yeah i dont know whats up with me wanting to title my emails like this but here we go. This week has been nice and hot and sunny, i think i have to start wearing sunscreen.
We were all in the CCM together.  Now all being trained.
This week we found a man on the street who was drinking and didn't look so good. He is about 45 years old or so and makes furniture. We talked with him quickly and told him we would help him and pass by his house one day, not thinking much of it.. Then we got to his house which is a beautiful apartment that has so much. We taught him and the woman he lives with and he really wants to change his life. We invited him to be baptized and will help him every day not to drink and to coninue reading every night. I know he will be so happy to change his life around and love sharing this message to better the lives of people.

Me and my new companion Elder D get along great and have a good time together. He sings aweosme and we have the same view of the mission and how to help people. But sadly only 5 weeks to end my training then i willl have a new comapanion because always after training we get a latino companion.

I am staying safe and warm. Also getting lots of blessings and sharing with people who have lots of interest and potential.

I will be writing some letters today to send off next week. And and a side note is that the letters you send go to the office first and then the next week to be sent to me so at times it can be like 4 weeks. THanks for always emailing and talking with me. Have a great week and enjoy the cold while it lasts.   Love you all!:)

Semana 1 (week 1)

Chile Santiago Temple (P-day in the CCM)
Wow time has been flying by. It has been so busy here but all good. I only have 30 minutes to type so i will just send out one big email today. I was setting up all of my email and figuring out my camera. Well anyway today was obviously p day but you only get three hours to do what you want and an hour at most to email.

Me and my companion walked around a lot. We have a good time together. And while buying food from a small store we ran into some 15 year old school boys who we talked to for a while and then they went on their way. But as we were coming back down the road after picking up what we needed we saw them sitting on a bench so we talked to the three of them. we all understood each other pretty well and talked for 15 min in spanish and try to tell them about ourselves. and then as one of the boys was writing down his information their bus came to pick them up and they had to hurry on and go. But it was good to get practice and talk with nice people
Me and my Comp from Tennessee
These past few days have been filled with so much. learning, praying, spanish, gospel, reading, writing, singing, speaking, and yes eating. The food was a little different at first but you get used to it. all of the missionaries that have been here warn about the "pan" or bread. they say if you eat too much, like more than one piece you will be having a hard time in the bathroom haha. We eat potatoes, rice and chicken all the time which is great for me because ill always eat it. there is also fish, soup, and other things sometimes. Ohh my gosh and i have to tell you about breakfast!! ok so for breakfast you come to the table which is already set and has lots of things out. you pour a bowl of cereal and then pour a bunch of yogurt on top! it is so different but it is the custom and because of the milk here. I like it because i like yogurt. The milk is never refirgertaed and is put on a shelf, and when it expires they boil it and put it back in. it is really different.

The spanish language is coming great to me! I am rooming in the ccm with some latino elders and they are so funny and nice. We teach them english and they teach us spanish. It is so fun and we always laugh.

My p day and time might change around with so many missionaries coming in and out. A normal day is waking up before 7 and studying for an hour then going to excersise and go to the huge park with all the elders and play soccer and other games. then the rest of the day is study study study and lots of class.

am so happy about everything though and it will go by fast. Thanks for the prayers and such, i will keep you filled in but these weeks at the ccm will be jam packed and rush to get all the learning in that i can.

Well i have a few minutes left and wish i could talk about everything. But i love you guys. I love you mom, dad, garrett, blake, kelsey, and ashley. And of course i definitley love kennedy. As well everyone else in the family and grandparents:) I hope you are all doing okay. There is so much i have to say but i am writing in my journal every night so you guys will be fully filled in in two years. I love you guys so much! have a great week and i know i will!

i tried to attach lots of pictures but it wont send so many. The pictures of the road are a main road that is connected to the ccm and temple and many stores if you walk down in either direction. There is a picutre of me in front of the temple and one with my companion. One picture is of the ccm from the front and another is the temple from the front.
