The cold is coming

On the Metro
Finally we are getting cold here. As missionaries we love the cold more than the heat. We just layer up and good to go!

Things have been going great for me and my companion. We really are looking forward to the baptism of M. The ward boys are getting along with hiim great. He is becoming more comfortable with the church and wants to come to every activity! Like yesterday he walked all the way to church alone and stayed for all the classes. We are teaching him every other day to prepare him. Hes a great kid and i know that this will also help reactivate his mother in the church. I hope to stay in this sector and see my first convert from beginning to baptism. It makes me so happy to see the difference and change in the lifes of those who want to follow jesus christ.
oh my foot is all better. i actually have a damaged nerve in my foot too. but i only get random shocks sensations in my foot at times. but it's all good and i don't have any pain. it'll all heal perfectly over time.

We get plenty of earth quakes every week. and they are huge. like during the middle of the night.

The other day we had to come in the house a few hours early becuase it was a day of the ´´young combatents´´ i think it is in english. where many tennagers go out to mess around and just do bad things so to be safe we got home early.  The next morning as we are walking around we say many things sad things.  But were safe.

All is well, i keep working and i hope to stay here next change, we will find out the end of this week. But im happy as always for everything. Love you guys so much. later alligator

welp nothing new this week

Me and my Companion Elder A
We have been teaching a boy lately named M.  We have been helping him feel more comfortable with the church. he came to a mutual night to meet all the boys his age and the played games and made pizza. He had a great time and wants to keep coming. This next week he will come to church becuase he really really wants to. I know that this gospel will help him and his family. Hes already asking us questions about what to do to serve a mission! We are helping him to be baptized this next month!

We made pizza with the young men
hmm what else happened. I ate my first big mack from mcdonalds which was kind of nasty, i also tried some horse jerky which was even nastier. But the pizza we made with the young men was fun. lots of boys in this branch, this pic is less than half of them.

And thank you sister ashley for the email! i am doing great here. Continuing in the work every day.

Woohoo Ripped a Tendon! nah im good tho

well yes i did end up ripping a tendon in my foot doing absloutely nothing except a little jump excersising. i didnt feel much pain at the start but in the street walking i fell to the ground trying to get back up and keep walking. i really wanted to walk but couldnt with huge pain, so i hobbled to a members house bacause we were gonna have lunch. the gave me lots of creams and medications and bandage wrap thing. so i used that but still had terrible pain. so i used a boot for a few days and felt fine to wlak without it. but i still had some pain at times and couldnt fully use my foot. so i went to the doctor an he said i ripped a tendon and i will have a boot for a few weeks and we will see if it heals correctly. so yeah thats that but im still walking and working!

I tried to work the best i could this past week. having to visit the doctor in the ccm and rest at times because of the ripped tendon in my foot. i try to walk as fast as i can with this boot but obvioulsy it can be hard at times and i cant keep up with people to talk in the street. But i found that there are many people and members who love to help. I have little time in this branch but the members are helping with everything. they give me things to help with my foot. We always have a great lunch with the members. Last wek we were told that there was too many people wanting to have lunch with all 4 of us missionaries, which is a big change from before as it was hard to find people who were willing. We have a great relationship with the members and help them as much as they help us.

Dont worry about me haha, i am having a great time with all that has happened. and we stay safe from the people who live here. at times women who throw rocks at our windows trying to get our attention. we are in the most ghetto sector of the mission but love it!

I have a smaller blue boot that i use most of the time because the gray one was huge and i couldnt put my pants over to hide it a little. and the other pic was an intercambio becuase thats the only time i take pics with other missionaries.

its poppin out here, we be workin hard

Our sector goes up to the mountains
I dont know what the title each week should be so i will just out the first thing that comes to mind. But this week was fun as usual. Conchalì is the place be! The church got robbed this week which is whatevs haha. nothing new here. They destroyed and stole a lot inside. The four of us were walking past the church and saw everything open and thought someone was cleaning at first. But then thought why were all the trophies and pictures out of the cases, so we grabbed tennis rackets and baseball and searched the place but nobody was there. So we called the ward and told them what happened. ovioulsy the police here just stopped by and didnt do much. But they brook into every room, even the offices that are steel plated 3 inches thick, and the gates here that are 12 feet and spiked. but the one closet they didnt open was the one that had all the tithing so that was lucky.
This week i saw the people who are most likely to share and love to talk with the missionaries. There are many foreigners here like from Peru and Haiti that come here looking for a better life. They really look for anything that will help them in life. And as missionaries we know the gospel is the greatest of all. This week for example we shared with a family from Peru that have two deaf sons. they were able to understand the message and accept a baptismal date. We will continue to share with them and the importance of eternal families as my testimony is strong in that area.  I love you guys have a good week.

First week in Conchalì

Welcome to the ward cake
Welp it was a fun week learning the sector with three new misionaries and one whose been in for a while. Elder F who is the tall gringo has like 2 months left. Elder B from vegas has about 6 months out. and my comp, Elder A has about 11 months out. And the elder who is going home soon has more time than all 3 of us combined! But we have a great time together. We pretty much doing everything together the 4 of us other than the hours of proselyting from 4ish to 10 at night. We play darts and listen to lots of music, yes church music obiously but like from church movies and mens choirs.

The house we have is pretty big and has 5 bedrooms but the mission said we cant use the upstairs. so each companionship lives, eats, studies, sleeps, everything in our room. and we have to get ready fast sharing a bathroom that is tiny as usual. But this branch is so fun.

haha like our first day here for lunch. we went to go eat with president nuñez and his family. they had the plates set with about 10 peas each, 2 pickle slices, a leaf of lettuce, and a dot of mayo. they said they are helping the missionaries eat healthy and that their son is "practicing the art of cooking". we ate it with a toothpick as our utinsel. but finally after a while they brought a full plate of food after the joke was done haha. the members here are great, we even got a welcome to the branch cake!

This place is nice and ghetto but dont worry, the members tell us which streets we shouldnt walk and when. haha like people just offering everything to us. i cant really put it all but bad things. We dont have a problem here and love it. this is a great sector and we love it!

Hearing from Elder David F Evans this past week was great! He helped me understand my purpose as a missionary a lot more. He really emphasized on focusing on the men to baptize. They can help coninue in the work of the church and help the families. I am going to focus on that now and really edifying the church and bringing members who will continue to change the lives of others. And it is wierd because this past week we encountered a few different boys who have lots of interest and i really do see being a great help to this church. I am grateful every day to be serving here and in this new sector.

it was cold a few days this last week so we wore jackets, but then it got steaming hot again. i cant wait for winter and you guys are probably pumped for summer haha. love you guys:) bye - Elder Jaeger
